Golf Simulator Videos Explores FlightScope’s Cutting-Edge Innovations at the 2025 PGA Show
FlightScope made waves at the 2025 PGA Show, unveiling groundbreaking technology to enhance both practice sessions and on-course performance. Golf Simulator Videos’ Jay Lasco visited the FlightScope booth to experience the latest advancements firsthand, including the FlightScope X3C Launch Monitor, the FlightScope i4 Laser Rangefinder, and Badger AI.
The FlightScope X3C: The World’s First Carbon Fiber Launch Monitor
The X3C, which features a carbon fiber shell built using aerospace grade materials – a world first in the launch monitor space – brings the same trusted data from the X3 but in a lighter, more portable design. It also features a new quad-core 64-bit processor, the fastest ever in a FlightScope launch monitor.
Lasco was impressed with the updated all-white design, calling it “really sleek” and a “definite step up for 2025.” With its refined aesthetics, improved portability, and unmatched accuracy, the X3C is built for discerning golfers, club fitters and teaching professionals seeking the pinnacle in tracking technology.
The FlightScope i4 Laser Rangefinder: A Smart AI Caddy in Your Pocket
One of FlightScope’s most exciting releases is the i4 Laser Rangefinder, which is more than just a rangefinder – it’s a revolutionary, intelligent golfing companion. By combining cutting-edge AI, real-time environmental integration, and advanced ballistic calculations, the FlightScope i4 elevates precision and strategy to a new standard for both professional and amateur golfers.
At the core of the i4’s precision is its groundbreaking Effective Distance calculation. Unlike traditional rangefinders that provide simple yardage measurements, the i4 adjusts distances dynamically based on various critical factors, including:
-
Home Location Reference: Ensures familiarity and consistency by calculating Effective Distance relative to the golfer’s home playing conditions.
-
Local Environmental Factors: Accounts for altitude, air density, kinematic viscosity, and target elevation to provide accurate distance measurements.
-
Ballistic Calculations: Considers the golfer’s unique launch conditions – such as ball speed, spin, and launch angle – for every club, ensuring precise distance calculations.
Lasco was particularly impressed by Smart Gapping, an i4 feature within the FS Golf App that can generate a golfer’s club distances through the bag using as little as the carry distance for one club. “I was looking at this, and it’s really close within reason,” Lasco said after generating his yardages using the tool. “It does a very good job – my club distances are spot on.”
Daniel Fitzpatrick, Reseller and Affiliate Account Manager at FlightScope, highlighted that the i4 Rangefinder eliminates any guesswork : “It’s like having a virtual caddy that knows your game inside and out.”
Badger AI: Smarter Golf Decisions
Another standout innovation at the FlightScope booth was Badger AI, an advanced AI tool designed to assist golfers, coaches and club fitters with instant, data-driven recommendations. “For example, if you hit 10 drivers and want to know if there’s a better shaft for your game, Badger AI can pull recommendations in seconds,” Fitzpatrick explained.
After seeing Badger AI’s response to the example above, Lasco praised its potential: “It’s basically endless. It even takes kickpoint and other shaft specs into account.”
Badger AI, set to launch in mid-February, is designed to evolve over time, providing more in-depth and faster answers as it gathers more data.
With innovations like the X3C, i4 Rangefinder, and Badger AI, FlightScope continues to redefine golf technology. As Lasco put it, “Make sure you stay tuned – there’s a lot more coming soon.”
